The design is rather good for a budget laptop (where the producers don’t usually spend money on looks, but try to allocate them to other features); the fake snake skin lid gives it an exotic touch. At a weight of 5.5 pounds, it’s still considered a portable. The keyboard is comfortable and includes the number pad, which is nice. The glossy screen offers bright vivid colors and the viewing angle is quite wide.

The performance isn’t great, but considering that it’s a budget laptop it is expected not to accomplish the functions of a racket. So what you pay is what you get. There is no room for disappointment.

This machine is equipped with an Intel T7300 Core 2 Duo processor at 2.0 GHz, with 4 MB Cache, the Intel GMA X31400 video graphics, a hard drive of 80 GB at a speed of 5400 rpm and a memory of 512 MB which can be upgraded up to 4 GB. The matte display uses the WXGA technology with a resolution of 1440 x 900. Let’s see the ports: there are four USB 2.0, FireWire, headphone and microphone, VGA, Ethernet and a security lock. There is a card slot and the laptop comes with a docking station. The d360 has an optical drive DVD+/- RW and it also comes with a fingerprint reader – though as a safety feature that could also easy your access to all your documents. The battery has 9 cells. The connectivity is assured by a wireless and also Bluetooth modules. The dimensions are 13.3” x 9.37” x 1.27” and a weight of 5.1 lbs. the laptop comes preinstalled with Windows Vista Business on 32 bit.

The first impression is that the d360 is a robust laptop, it feels quite resistant to shocks, but that doesn’t mean that you have to test this in order to be sure, it’s still made of fragile components that request a cautious handling. Many people complain about the positioning of the USB in the back of the laptop because you usually need an easy access port and this is rather annoying. The 14” screen is brighter than in other models of laptops that allow you to watch a movie or do your work even though it’s a sunny day outside. On the other hand, the contrast isn’t as good, the image looks faded. The speakers do their job, they are actually louder than expected. The nine cell battery keeps you on the move quite long – 5 hours and 45 minutes – allowing you to do must of your work on the go.

Hope this was helpful. I think that this laptop meets the needs of many of those who are in search of a good reliable one.

Dell Latitude Laptop Reviews

The laptop has become almost a necessity in modern times (I say almost because some still use the desktop PC, but the trend is descending). In a time when we are all day on the run, we need a portable that can satisfy our basic computer needs. When a person starts looking for a laptop that can match he’s expectations, he tries to prioritize: what do I really need? On the other side, every laptop has its biggest advantages and for the Dell Latitude d600 the key words are long life battery and wireless with dual-band antennae. So if you cannot decide for a laptop, it seems like the laptop is choosing its own target public.

What can you find in a Dell d600? There’s a Pentium M 755 processor at 2 GHz, a display of 14.1”, 512 MB DDR266 SDRAM memory, the hard drive capacity is of 80 GB, an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 of 32 Mb video graphics and a DVD+RW drive. The Bluetooth is incorporated (802.11 g), as well as the gigabit Ethernet and Infrared. In terms of ports the d600 has 2 USB 2.0, PC Card slot, headphone, microphone, S-video and docking station. The best feature is the battery that last four whole hours.

This is a good alternative to a laptop, because the Dell Latitude d600 is light weighted (only 5.4 pounds) and its small screen of 14.1” helps to carry it easier. The keyboard is nothing of the ordinary, but the touchpad buttons are a bit of a disappointment, being pretty stiff. The sound system is quite good and the screen quality is okay, with a high resolution (1024 x 768 or 1400 x 1050).

Dell laptops always had an extra great feature: the possibility of upgrading them, customizing them as the users meets his best needs. The d600 doesn’t make the exception. What is a bit of a letdown is the fact that the d600 Latitude is slow with its Pentium 755 processor. Another intrigue was the lack of information on the subject – there is no user’s manual.

If these features are what you need to cover your work for personal affairs or for your school or job, then the Dell Latitude d600 laptop is what you should buy.

The design isn’t amazing, the idea is to keep it all as simple as possible – black simple. Actually, the minimalistic look has attracted many costumers that didn’t want any sparks, but rather a plain and simple laptop. The alternative is that for an extra 40$ you can ask for another color from those available. The interior maintains the same minimalistic approach, the touch pad is matte and works smoothly, the keyboard has a pretty good response and the spacing of the keys is satisfying. The screen is a nice feature because it does the job done with the majority of application and uses (movies, gaming). The speakers are rather good, they are loud which makes them suitable for multimedia purposes.

The Dell Inspiron 1545 can become from a budget laptop to a very expensive one, by just customizing it. It’s your choice what kind of features you like/ need on your Dell laptop.

The dimensions of 3.15 mm height, 3.65 mm weight and 22.8 mm depth, the 2.2 kg of weight and the 14 inch diagonal screen size (with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels) say that this laptop is a standard portable, not too large or small and not heavy, actually. The processor type is Intel Celeron at a speed of 1.9 GHz; the laptop has 2 GB of RAM DDR3 with a storage capacity of 250 GB HDD and Intel GL40 motherboard chipset.  In terms of graphics, we are talking here about the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500. It has a memory card reader included and the operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium on 64 bit. The specifications enhanced the fact that the HP Compaq Presario CQ42 is in fact a user-friendly, standardly equipped device.

The design doesn’t remark itself in any way, isn’t spectacular, but has a sleek and neat look to it. This laptop speaks for itself through all its features when it says that it’s plain and simple just a laptop that gets the job done. Otherwise, the way that the design was thought is rather good: the keyboard is comfortable, with a decent space between the keys.

The laptop has a LightScribe SuperMulti DVD RW, the Double Layer Support. As the connectivity is concerned, there are 3 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet 100 Mb, VGA, HDMI, 5 in 1 card reader, headphones and microphone.  Along with the preinstalled windows there are several software included as following: HP Advisor, HP Support Assistance, HP Wireless Assistant, HP Software update, HP Recovery Manager, Adobe Reader, Norton Online Backup, Norton Internet Security – but only for 60 days as well as Microsoft Office 2007 which is activated for that same period of time.

The HP Compaq Presario CQ42 is an honest laptop: what you see is what you get. So you cannot be disappointed at the end of your purchase.

The small package in which the HP Compaq nc4400 comes, does just the thing for those who are always in a run. The 12” display makes it a subnotebook with a robust case, giving it a strong, reliable feel. Let’s find out more.

As mentioned above, the dimensions are perhaps the biggest advantage at this laptop, of only 28.5” width, 23.5” depth, 3” height, the display of 12.1” and the weight of 1.8 kg. This model comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor, an Intel Mobile 945 GM Express Chipset with a memory of 1024 MB (which can be upgraded to 4096 MB), it has an internal HDD of 80 GB at a rotation of 5400.

The Wireless and Bluetooth technologies are available thanks to the Intel Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g. In terms of ports there are three USB 2.0, Firewire, Rj-11, headphone and microphone, AC adapter, Rj-45, TV-out and VGA. The video graphics come in the package of Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, with a shared memory that can be upgraded up to 224 MB. This subnotebook comes preinstalled with Genuine Windows XP Professional SP2, as well as software like HP Client Manager Interface. The good surprise is that the nc4400 has a full-sized keyboard. The battery is of six cells Lithium-Ion.

At a second look I’ve found out that this basic equipment with which the laptop is designed does the job done, without letting you have any false expectations regarding its performance, because, all in all, it has average features.

The design at this subnotebook is robust, you won’t be afraid of managing it. The magnesium alloy gives it stableness as well as a strong feel to it. A particular good characteristic is that it doesn’t make any creaking noises.

The keyboard is definitely a satisfactory feature, and although some keys needed some readjustments, the keyboard is full-sized. This model comes with a fingerprint reader which has been incorporated in the right edge of the case.

Although the screen isn’t wide, the matt XGA alternative at 1024 x 768 resolution is rather good. Actually, the display has some excellent characteristics as the brightness, contrast and illumination.

The battery expectancy will amaze you with its five hours runtime.

All in all, the HP Compaq nc4400 proved to be a stable, robust, portable device, which gets the job done.

Dell Xps Laptop Review

If we bring the Dell XPS M2010 into our daily discussion, we definitely talk about a monster! The 20 inch display is something that you don’t see every day. Let’s find out what other surprises does Dell have for its users.

Dell Xps Laptop Review (Source: latarnaveni.ro)

Dell Xps Laptop Review (Source: latarnaveni.ro)

Specifications

Dimensions    18.85” (W) x 2.90” (H) x 15.90” (D)
Weight    18.3 lbs.
Display    20.1” HD widescreen with a resolution of 1680 x 1050

Graphics    ATI Mobility Radeon X 1800
Webcam    Yes, 1.3 megapixels
Wireless    Yes, Dell 350 Bluetooth, Intel Wireless 3945ABG

This laptop is a bit out of the ordinary and this impression comes at the first glare: the design isn’t at all common, you have to understand that this isn’t your regular laptop. The huge dimension makes it less portable and more of a desktop. This full sized computer has a very solid build. The presence of a hinge allows the movement of the screen more closely to its user (the hinge is actually very stiff and reliable). Taking into consideration the materials used (at touch it feels like leather) and the attention paid to the details (the blue LEDs and blue logo), the design looks very good.
The screen is amazing! It has a high brightness and good view angles. It is by far the best screen you could ever find at any laptop (although it is a bit improper to make this comparison). The speakers, 8 to number, are another great feature that puts the rest laptops to shame.  Although they have their flaws, they are revolutionary items in the industry of laptops. Another thing that is great at the XPS is the detachable keyboard, which is very impressive stuff. The laptop comes with a mouse as well, for an authentic PC experience. The battery lasts about 2 – 3 hours – which, you have to be honest, is pretty great for a machine this large.

Dell Xps Laptop Review (Source: engadget.com)

Dell Xps Laptop Review (Source: engadget.com)

In terms of performance, the T7200 processor is quite fast, but the RAM is a letdown as well as the storage capacity of only 120 GB.
Resuming, the novelties that the XPS brings are: 8 speakers and subwoofer, a detachable Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and a remote control. You have here, in this let’s say laptop, a revolutionary device.

The first thing you acknowledge at this laptop is the fact that its not that portable, considering it’s dimensions and weight, you will probably use it as a desktop most of the time. However, this doesn’t mean that the other features don’t need to be evaluated.
The big novelty at this laptop is the fact that is available with a Blu-ray drive – more specifically the BD-RE type (this allows you to play, record, and rewrite movies). The resolution at this huge display is of 1680 x 945 pixels – which doesn’t rise to the full expectations of everybody, considering the potential of the gigantic display. The speakers are a good feature, better than what you can find at most laptops. The Satellite P 500 has a little surprise for you: on the left side of the keyboard there are touch sensitive media controls. The keyboard itsefl isn’t that great because the keys are very packed together and they are very flat so it’s easy to make accidentally mistakes – it takes a while till you get used to it.
In technical terms, the P500 (12F) has a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 processor, a 4 GB memory RAM DDR2 (we would have expected DD3, which is faster), 500 GB capacity of storage and NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M graphics card – all  of these makes the P500 a serious multimedia machine.
