15 Inch Laptop Reviews

15 inchers are usually mainstream midsized laptops, but the following PC will break this barrier, because it is a massive, high performance desktop replacement. HP EliteBook Mobile Workstation 8540w is extremely efficient, powerful, fast and can be used for basically anything. As you might have guesses it, it isn’t cheap either. This particular model costs $2265.53 but you can find it anywhere between $1,679.00 and $3,122.00, not cheap at all.

For such a price you expect top of the line specs and features and so you shall get. On the inside it has a quad core Intel Core i7-720QM processor that runs at 1.6 GHz. The usual capacity for an internal memory now-a-days is of 4 GB, this laptop holds twice that amount, that is 8 GB.

As I have mentioned it before, you can easily use it for gamming or any sort of entertainment purposes because it has an Nvidia Quadra FX 1800M graphics card with a massive 1 GB shared memory.

One thing that this laptop lacks in is storage space. It doesn’t actually lack in it, but the 320 GB hard drive offers less space than most top of the line machines. You can always fix this problem with an added external hard drive or by saving you data on discs, you can always write DVDs with the optical drive. Also, another good news is that not only can the optical drive write DVDs but it can read Blu ray, perfect for when you want to watch movies.

With all the extra added features and the 6 cell battery, this laptop weighs a total of 9 pounds with adapter, being extremely heavy, not meant to be carried around, it might even break your leg, if you put it on your lap.

But of course there are more features, like three 2.0, two 3.0 USB, one eSATA and a Mini FireWire port. It also comes with an SD card reader, a DisplayPort and a VGA port. Networking is provided by a modem, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, quite a large range of options.

As you can see, there is nothing that this laptop can’t do, its only bad features are its large weight, small touch pad and the short battery life due to the quad core processor.11
