In the budget laptops category enters a new candidate, the Acer Aspire 5517-1643. It does the basic work done like navigating the Internet, it covers the multimedia needs and expectations, in other words it is a good alternative or the best solution for those who want to keep things simple.

It has an optical drive integrated DVD+/- RW, a five – in – one card reader (xD Picture, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, SD Memory Card and MultiMedia Card), the display is of 15.6” with TFT technology and a resolution of 1355 x 768 WXGA, supporting up to sixteen million colors. We can talk here as well about wireless connection. As for the slots, there are two high speed USBs, headphone, microphone, Ethernet. The battery at this model has six cells Lithium-ion which gives you two and a half hours of power. The 5517-1643 comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium on 64 bit; the Microsoft suit comes with the software package.
The design is rather good for a budget laptop (where the producers don’t usually spend money on looks, but try to allocate them to other features); the fake snake skin lid gives it an exotic touch. At a weight of 5.5 pounds, it’s still considered a portable. The keyboard is comfortable and includes the number pad, which is nice. The glossy screen offers bright vivid colors and the viewing angle is quite wide.
The performance isn’t great, but considering that it’s a budget laptop it is expected not to accomplish the functions of a racket. So what you pay is what you get. There is no room for disappointment.
