ASUS is one of the largest laptop manufacturers but it got well known thanks to its line of small sized PCs, in another word, netbooks. Netbooks can come in handy if you are on the road a lot and need a PC at your side, also if you go to school, such a PC is the best. This is because a netbook comes with the bare essentials, so while it isn’t that powerful, it is thin and light.

A laptop which was released in 2010 and was voted one of the best of its kind is the Asus Eee PC 1018PB-BK801. Its price is about $433.99 but you can find it for as little as $349.99.
As I said this isn’t one of the most powerful laptops, its processor is an Intel Atom N450 running at a speed of 1.66GHz. On the department of memory, it only has 1 GB installed Ram, which is the bare minimum for today’s standards. The hard drive on the other hand is of a decent size with its 250 GB capacity, although this too is below standard. Unfortunately you cannot perform any heavy tasks on this machine and entertainment is also limited. The integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics processor will not allow any serious gaming but movie watching should nt constitute a problem.

As you can see its specks are pretty basic and you will notice that features are the same way. The optical drive is missing, this is normal for a netbook, but Bluetooth isn’t available either. What you have though is Wi Fi, Ethernet connection, three USB ports, an SD card reader and a VGA outsourcing port. It also has an integrated webcam, microphone, stereo speakers and the regular headphone and microphone jacks.
Its diagonal screen size is of 10 inches and its height is of 0.9 inch, almost as small as a tablet, so naturally it doesn’t weigh much either. With the adapter it pushes a total of 3 pounds. Also, if you are thinking about buying it, know that CNET editors thought it to be an excellent laptop.
