If you are in search for a reliable portable PC and your budget is not limited you should check out a MacBook. It is a well known fact that Apple manufactures the highest rated laptops on the market but they come at a very high price. One of the best out of Apple laptops at the moment is the Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011, so much so, that CNET editors think of it as an excellent product. Â Its price is somewhere between $2,000 and $2,800, quite expensive for a 15 inch PC.

It can work as both an entertainment machine, for movie watching and game playing and as a mainstream portable laptop, this means that it has powerful components but still manages to weigh only 5.5 pounds.
The processor is a highly efficient 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 quad-core processor that is paired with an internal memory of 4 GBs. The hard drive is your standard eSATA but its capacity is bigger than on average, offering 750 GB of space. Because it has two graphics cards, one of low capacity, an integrated Intel HD 3000 and another AMD Radeon HD 6750M, the Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 can be used for gaming but it will work great for designers or movie watchers too.

The optical drive is built in but unfortunately it is not a Blu ray player only a DVD burner. There is no option for expansion but networking is well sustained by LAN, Bluetooth and Wi Fi. It also has different types of ports, such as: two USB, one FireWire, one Mini DisplaPort, one Thunderbolt and one FireWire 800 port. And finally, an SD card reader is also integrated.
All in all, this is a great piece of equipment, with powerful components but it is lacking in the department of features. For example, it does not have a 3.0 type USB port and the optical drive cannot handle Blu ray and these options would have been welcomed at a laptop that costs this much.
