As good as it may sound, a free Dell laptop is not something you can find everywhere on the streets. In fact, when you hear about the free giving away of a Dell laptop, there is quite a high chance that this is, in fact, a scam. There are different website that will try to convince you that by performing certain actions you will automatically receive a free Dell laptop.
You are asked to do apparently simple tasks like register on a certain website or complete a quick survey. If you pay close attention to the super small writing on the bottom of the page, you will see that these websites actually require that you purchase an item which is quite expensive and then you will receive your so called “free laptop”.

When you have to buy something, this is not like giving the second item for free as it is actually priced at the value of the first item which you must buy. There a lot of websites that practice this kind of scams. In general, the items that you must buy are something that you normally would not consider purchasing. Let us take the example of www.gadgetcenter.us.com. When you enter this website you will see pretty pictures of the Dell Studio 15 laptop accompanied by a message that says you get a chance to try it, test it and keep it. That sounds really great, doesn’t it? Well, if you scroll down the page and reach the writing at the bottom, you will see that there are a few catches to this super cool offer.
OK, there are the basic rules that you have to follow: you have to be at least 18 years of age and an USA resident. Here comes the catch. You have to complete several reward offers which are called silver, gold and platinum offers. You need 2 silver, 2 gold and 8 platinum offers completed and some of them require that you make a purchase.

If you have, for instance, on offer on a credit card, you may be asked to activate the card by buying something or transferring a balance. Not only must you do all these things, but you also have to find another 2 household which must also complete this entire program. And there is another catch. From the moment that you have completed you registration on the website using valid personal information, you only have 60 days to complete all the silver, gold and platinum offers if you want to receive your “free prize” in the end.
This is why it is very important to read the small letter at the bottom of these web pages so you can know just what you are getting yourself into.
Also read the terms and conditions and the privacy policy of every such website as you would read a contract before signing it. The number of internet frauds has reached alarming rate so make sure you are not the next victim. Now, with contests where you get a chance to WIN a laptop, that is another story…11
