HP G71-340US is a great desktop replacement laptop that promises up to four hours of battery life. On amazon.com its price is somewhere between $729.99 and $550.00. A refurbished one will cost even less, only $420.00. For a desktop replacement laptop this is quite an accessible price.

Every desktop replacement machine needs to be powerful, if possible, equipped with the latest technology. This particular product doesn’t seem to be the top of the line though but for the price it is sold at, it does offer as many features as it can.

Its processor is not the latest version but it is still a dual core Intel Core2 Duo T6600 Processor with a 2.2 GHz speed, this means that it is quite powerful. The 4 GB DDR2 is also powerful enough but in some better performers and expensive laptops you can find a higher capacity memory. The hard drive is quite similar to the previous mentioned specs, not too big, I would even say that the 320 GB is just about sufficient storage space.

In the matter of entertainment, this laptop will offer great performance in the field of movies thanks to its large 17.3 inch screen and the shared Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD that has a total of 1.7 GB graphics memory. This means that movies will also run smoothly and some older games too.

In total it weighs 6.7 pounds, which is not much for a 17 inch one, that also has an integrated optical drive. If the optical drive read Blu ray, it would have been a plus point for the HP G71-340US but like this it seems that we are dealing with an outdated PC.

Feature wise it doesn’t stand out from the crowd; actually it has quite a basic configuration in this sense: three USB ports, modem and Ethernet jacks for connecting to the internet and an SD card reader. The manufacturer guesses that many would want to connect this laptop to a bigger screen, so it equipped it with a VGA and a HDMI port.

Basically that is all. Considering its price, this is a pretty decent desktop replacement laptop with sufficient power and features.11
